There's these moments

There's these moments that hold a special place in my heart that can/will never be moved. Such as the first time I saw my little man, the first time Olivia saw the Disneyland Christmas parade, the first time it snowed( at Disneyland) when I was holding Olivia and she just smiled and hugged me, the first time I rocked my Paul to sleep, the first time I saw Olivia give her brother a bath, the look of Olivia in boots, a diaper, and sunglasses as she was ready to go out and play. These and so many more memories will fill my heart. So here is to lots of great memories and a lifetime more to come

Little Boy

Little Boy,
These past 7 months have been an adventure. Never could I have imagined loving another little person as much as I loved your sister. Amazingly, God makes our hearts big enough to love over and over again. I fell in love with you the first time I saw your little heart beat on the ultrasound but months later, this is a new kind of love.

I love your smile and your laugh, especially when you see your sister do something so silly. I love your chubby baby cheeks and baby toes.  I love that little place in your baby neck that smells just like a newborn. I love the way your head fits on my shoulder when you are tired. I love the way you grab your toes, I love you , I love you, I love you.

Although sleepless nights have plagued us since the beginning and through tired eyes we have stayed up way past everyone else’s bedtime, I would do it all over again and again.  You are the perfect addition to our little family.  Thank you for your patience as I try to parent two little people with such different personalities, thank you for your forgiveness as I try to remember this stage in babyhood, and thank you for letting me love you so much!

love, Mommy

15 months

Dear love,
It is hard to believe that it has been 15 months since you graced the world with your presence. 15 months seems so little, yet I have known you since day one and now you are, well-- YOU. You are the epitome of beauty, silliness, sweetness, and love. I can't believe in just a few short months, your brother will be here with us and I cannot wait to see how you are with him. You have grown so much since your first birthday and do so many new things these days. Here are what you are up to these days:

-you know how to say buh-bye,go,kiiiy for kitty
-you put on your purse and wave goodbye to us, you can walk down the steps(mostly without help), you know how to tell us "shhh" when the kitty is sleeping, you run , and boogie to the sweet sounds of music. You climb your chairs, sit in a booster seat, you climb everything in sight, you love to vacuum. You know the sounds of a cow, monkey, and puppy. You stop to say hi to every puppy on our walk.
-you cuddle all your animals like babies and have recently started cuddling with us. You love to grab your binky from the freezer and walk to your room to point to your crib. You love Gertie.
-you like to color, love to be startled, love the sound of your own stomping on the kitchen tile, you love dirt and exploring the outdoors, you love stroller rides. You love sitting in boxes for some reason. You love playing ball. Bathtime is your fave. You love toy story3 and tangled.
- anything that isn't yours, must become yours. You love sitting at the sink and brushing your teeth. You know how to give besito and make kiss lips. Spaghetti and watermelon are your choice of food.
-you are cute and there is much much more.

I love you, lovebug and I look forward to a million more months of getting to see your personality grow.

Love,
Auntie

It's times like these

There are days when I can't get enough of Olive and these past few days were those days. She was just adorable in her Cinco de Mayo dress. She is the epitome of perfection(in my eyes). Today, we sat and watched Toy Story 3. She sat on the floor with her water and cheddar bunnies while I laid behind her with my arm wrapped around her waist. It was a beauty to lay there and just relax with her. She let me massage her cute andouilles aka her toes. We sat there forever, Me with my arms around her just absorbing all her cuteness, her smiling as woody and buzz try to get back to Andy. It was pure perfection. Its hard to think, that someday, faraway, she will be an adult and our time like this will be a thing of the past. That's why the ending to toy story made me tear up. Spoiler: the gang sits there and waves goodbye to Andy as he drives off on his way to college. I realize that is going to be me someday. I will stand there and wave to her while she drives off to start her new adventure.

So I laid there with my eyes close, just feeling her breathe. I don't know of any auntie that has had this experience and maybe I am just one of the lucky few. I thank my sister and brother in law for this opportunity. For the opportunity of watching a newborn become an infant and then a toddler and so on.

So it's times like these that make me realize how much I love being an auntie to the little girl that sits there so sweetly and let's you cuddle...and also to the little girl who yells at you for not giving her the watermelon...it's love

Olive and Gertie

A couple of days ago, while olive, Desiree, and I were on a walk, we saw an older lady start walking towards us. I continued the conversation me and Desiree were having until she approached us. She asked us if we had lost a bunny, a stuffed one, but I didn't find that out until a bit later. She said they had found the bunny in the rain and had put a sign hoping the owner would see it. So she walks us toward the sign and we see the cutest pink bunny tied to the sign. So began olivia's love with Gertie the bunny. She reached for the bunny and the lady handed her over. She told us how she and her roommate had seen the bunny and put it in the washer hoping the owner would come. No one ever claimed the bunny so they decided to give it to olive. How sweet!

Well Olive and Gertie have been inseparable. She sleeps with her and plays with her and all around loves her. When asked "where is Gertie" she takes you to her room where she points at Gertie through the bars of her crib. I will one day post a picture of Olive and Gertie. I am glad she was given to Olive because she gives Gertie the love and attention she deserves. We plan to send the nice ladies a pic of the duo together..in case anyone is wondering how Gertie got her name, here it is: the ladies names were Rosie and Gertrude. So we combined the names and came up with Gertie, such a big name for such a little rabbit.
